Yli-Viikari is accused of, among other things, gross abuse of office. He has denied the charges.

Helsinki the district court will begin hearing charges against the directors of the State Audit Office (VTV) on Dec. 8.

The former CEO was fired Tytti Yli-Viikaria and leader About Mikko Koira accused of aggravated abuse of office. In the alternative, the prosecutor demands punishment for the duo for breach of duty.

The indictment concerns the termination of an employment contract entered into with a VTV official in May 2016. Under the termination agreement, the Chief Inspector had been paid free of charge for two years before retiring without any obligation to work.

Yli-Viikari is also charged with breach of duty and fraud in payment instruments. The charges concern the use of Finnair Plus reward points accrued from Yli-Viikari’s missions in 2016–2020 to pay private expenses in 2018–2020.

A total of three hearing days have been set aside for handling charges. The last day is December 15th.
