Legal proceedings A minor boy stabbed another in the back at the Helsinki Alpine Park – sentenced to more than four years in prison

The 16-year-old was convicted of, among other things, attempted murder as a young person.

Helsinki the district court sentenced a 16-year-old boy to four years and less than four months in prison on Monday for, among other things, killing as a young person and two attempted robberies as a young person.

A 17-year-old boy involved in robbery attempts was sentenced to 4.5 months in prison.

According to the court, the boys had tried to rob the two other young people in Helsinki’s Alpine Park in October 2020 of their branded shoes. The 16-year-old had legally threatened victims of violence if she did not get shoes.

One of the young people who were the target of the robbery escaped, but one of the younger of the convicted boys hit his back with a knife. The court held that the boy must have considered it probable that the victim could die.

The 16-year-old was also found guilty of several other crimes committed as a young person in late 2020.
