Charles Leclerc also adds a Ferrari Daytona SP3 to his personal garage. The limited edition model of 599 units is part of the Icona series, the exclusive program that already includes the Monza SP1 and SP2 barchettas. For the occasion, the Maranello car manufacturer presented a video of just over four minutes filmed in front of the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena.
Leclerc’s Special Daytona SP3
The clip shows the Prancing Horse supercar customized specifically for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 driver, which benefits from specific features specially chosen by Leclerc. Starting with the livery, made in matte black, which according to the Monegasque is his favorite color ever. The flag of the Principality could not be missing, as in other Ferraris made for Leclerc, with two horizontal bands of the same size, one red and one white, symbolizing courage/valor and peace/innocence. There is plenty of carbon fiber, with the elements made of the composite material that have been finished in red with a thin shiny line that contrasts with the matte bodywork. The red brake calipers that emerge from behind the black alloy wheels also stand out. Obviously, the Ferrari shield and Leclerc’s number 16 are present. In the cockpit, we then find the seats with the number 16 embroidered with the signature of the Monegasque driver next to it. The finishes of the cockpit then recall the colors of the exterior, with red and white. In the video, a satisfied Lecler expresses all his appreciation for the car which coincides exactly with his wishes: “I think I spent at least five or six hours in the design studio making sure everything was done exactly the way I wanted it.”
The Ferrari Daytona SP3
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 weighs just 1,485 kg dry, with a balance of 44 front and 56 rear. The heart of the third Icon is the 65° V12 engine with a displacement of 6.5 capable of delivering 840 HP at 9,500 rpm. Located in a rear-mid position, this twelve-cylinder adopts titanium connecting rods, which guarantee a 40% lightening compared to steel, and the use of a new material for the construction of the pistons. The performance is once again unique, with a top speed of over 340 km/h and the ability to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and burn the 0-200 in 7.4.
