The Ferrari driver is serene and doesn’t want to attach too much importance to the Day-1 standings of the Sakhir tests

There was so much waiting to measure the strength of the race on the track Ferrari in the Bahrain tests, especially in comparison with the very strong world champion duo formed by Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Honda. Day-1 rewarded the Anglo-Austrian single-seater, which immediately placed itself in front of everyone both in the times list and in the completed laps list and Helmut Marko did not hide his satisfaction with what the RB19 showed at the first probing test on the track of the 2023 season. Ferrari is aware that it has a better single-seater in its hands than last year’s, but – clearly – no conclusion has been drawn on the opening day of the Sakhir tests, given that the Red is mainly dedicated to data collection for factory correlation.
And so in the interview granted to the British of Sky Uk, Charles Leclerc showed calm in the analysis of the strength shown by Verstappen on Day-1: “For now we are not focusing on them, because yesterday we have done very different programs. We are very satisfied with what we have done, but we have no idea how much fuel they have in the car and we don’t know how much they were pushing.”. The Monegasque rider is determined to achieve a good setting and an excellent feeling with his SF-23: “There are so many question marks. We cannot focus on others, only on ourselves and we will see what happens in the next few days“. As happened yesterday, Charles Leclerc will enter the track again today in the afternoon session.
