A world beyond F1
In recent years Lewis Hamilton has paved the way for Formula 1 drivers to start being protagonists even outside the track with entrepreneurial initiatives that vary in areas very different from motorsport. The seven-time British champion focused in particular on music and fashion – but not only – and what his future teammate at Ferrari will be, Charles Leclerc is following suit.
New business initiative
The Monegasque, in parallel with his career in the Circus, is also dedicating himself to music, but from today he also adds that of ice cream manufacturer. Leclerc himself presented this new adventure from the microphones of Radio Deejay in the program 'Deejay Gioca Italia', hosted by Linus and Nicola Savino. The Ferrari driver launched the LEC branda new line of ice cream designed with Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti, founders of the ice cream shop chain founded in Turin in 2003.
“Thanks to a mutual friend we met for lunch with Federico, who wanted to know more about Formula 1 – said #16 – I told him that I would really like to open an ice cream shop in Monaco and he explained his project to me. If there's one thing I've always liked, it's ice cream – revealed Leclerc – I had to make some sacrifices and eat less, because as an athlete I have to maintain my figure, but every now and then I allow myself one”. Hence the idea of creating an ice cream with a moderate calorie intake, “so I can afford a few more”he admitted with a smile.
The anecdote about speeding
To the microphones of Radio Deejay Leclerc also let himself go a little funny extra F1 anecdotelike the time when – as a fresh winner of the Italian GP – he was stopped for speeding at the wheel of his road car: “I was two or three kilometers above the limit. They asked me for a photo, they asked me for a hat and then I left again. It was the day after the victory in Monza” concluded the red standard bearer.
