Israel and the Lebanon-based Shia Islamist extremist organization Hezbollah have fired heavily at each other on Saturday and early Sunday, the news agency Reuters reports.
Hezbollah says it hit military targets in northern Israel with rockets at night. Israel, on the other hand, has bombed South Lebanon the hardest in over a year and continued the attacks right away on Sunday morning.
Israeli newspaper According to Haaretz Hezbollah would have launched more than a hundred rockets towards Israel during the night “in revenge for the explosions of the paging devices”. On its own Telegram channel, Hezbollah said, according to Reuters, that it directed the attacks on the Ramat David airbase in response to “Israel’s repeated attacks on Lebanon.”
The Israeli army, on the other hand, said that it struck nearly 300 targets in Lebanon during Saturday. The army also said it intended to continue the attacks.
