The Lebanese Government has informed Washington that accepts latest US ceasefire proposal in the open conflict between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah, according to sources from Lebanese public television LBCI.
The US special envoy for Lebanon, Amos Hochstein, is scheduled to arrive in Beirut next Tuesday to finalize details on the implementation of the proposal to ensure that it complies with the Lebanese Constitution, according to the source.
Last week, the United States conveyed the proposal through its Embassy in Beirut. and the president of the Lebanese Parliament Nabí Berri, an ally of Hezbollah.
It now remains to know whether both Israel and the Hezbollah militia party accept the proposal after six weeks since the beginning of the Israeli ground invasion and the intensification of the bombings.
