Many people are now able to view photos and videos through the instant communication application “WhatsApp” for one time, in a feature that many have been waiting for.
The new service is still in the testing phase so far, as it is being monitored in the beta version of “WhatsApp” known as “Beta”.
WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, seeks to generalize this service to all its users around the world, who number more than 2.5 billion people.
The new feature, in short, allows photos and videos to disappear on their own in the future in “WhatsApp” after a short period of time, provided that the future sees them only once.
WABetaInfo, a technical website that tracks WhatsApp news, says that the new service can be activated by going to “settings”, where there will be a one-time viewing service called “view once”.
This means that the receiving user will see the photos and videos once, and they will disappear from the chat history.
When uploading photos and videos to the application in preparation for their publication, the sending user must choose a new button that appears next to the writing text box, and the shape of the symbol comes on the image of the number “1” surrounded by a ring, according to Sky News Arabia.
The purpose of this service is to relieve pressure on the smartphone’s memory, which is teeming with photos sent from WhatsApp.
