Culiacán.- On the night of this Tuesday, August 30, the Secretary of Public Security (SSP), Cristobal Castaneda Camarillo, confirmed that chlorine gas was responsible for the death of one person and 29 more who needed medical attention in different hospitals in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
The incident developed around 6:30 p.m. today. in a blacksmith shop in the Francisco Villa neighborhood It left a firefighter, a paramedic and an element of the State Police intoxicated, along with more than twenty civilians and the death of a 60-year-old man.
The security official explained that 700 people and 130 cars that were in a supermarket located in the sector were evacuated, as well as 350 residents of houses near the place where the gas tank was found.
The recommendation for those who live in the area and could have had contact with the gas tank with a capacity of 68 kilos is to bathe and pay attention to any symptoms, in case of presenting it, the ideal is to seek medical attention.
