Very bad setback for the Iron Dames in view of the 24h of Le Mans: Doriane Pin was injured and will not be able to take part in the fourth race of the 2024 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The Frenchwoman was supposed to share the wheel of the #85 Lamborghini Huracan with Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting for the last time this year, but last weekend she was involved in an accident in the Formula Regional European Championship event.
After the usual visits, it emerged that the 20-year-old transalpine has suffered fractures to her ribs and this will prevent her from going to the Circuit de la Sarthe for the race on 15-16 June and attacking the LMGT3 class with her colleagues and the car of Sant’Agata Bolognese.

“As you know, I wasn’t able to race on the Sunday of the Spa weekend and after further medical tests they diagnosed me with rib fractures which will take time to heal”, explains Pin in a video published on social media with a face, rightly, rather pinched and knocked down.
“For this reason, together with the team, we have made the difficult decision not to participate in the 24h of Le Mans and also in the subsequent stage of the FRECA in Zandvoort the following week.”
“It is a very difficult and sad decision because Le Mans is one of the most important races of the season and very special for me. I had already organized myself to spend this week with you and with the team, but I also have to do what is best for me and the Iron Dames.”
“I will be back on track on June 21st in Barcelona with the F1 Academy, I hope to see many of you. See you soon!”
The crew of the Iron Dames will now have to be revised. Pin has already been replaced at the 6h of Spa-Francorchamps by Rahel Frey, who also has the rest of the year planned as the young transalpine will be busy with single-seaters.
