Moscow will not conduct a dialogue on the topic of Crimea and discuss this issue. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday, March 2, in an interview with al-Jazeera TV channel. The text is posted on website Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly stated our position, which our delegation brought to the talks with the Ukrainians in Belarus. Crimea is part of Russia,” the minister said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Lavrov said that Russia’s demands on Ukraine cannot be qualified as the surrender of Kyiv, Moscow offers to negotiate.
He stressed that in Ukraine there is a law on three indigenous peoples, which should serve as a key factor in resolving the current situation, according to the website kp.ru.
On March 2, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated the readiness of the Russian delegation to continue the dialogue with Ukraine. According to him, Moscow is counting on a successful outcome of the negotiations, but will not give any forecasts.
