We are just a week away from the Pokémon World Championships 2024 start in Hawaii. If the tournament has been played by Americans and Japanese in the past, Almost 900 players from Latin America will participate in this year’s edition. So, here we tell you who are the players from our region who will compete this year.
Starting with the VGC, This year we will see 31 players in the Juniors category, 26 in the Seniors category and 229 competing in Masters.. Nine of these are Argentines, including Juan and Joaquin Salerno and Sebastian Escalante. Likewise, 57 people from Brazil will be present, including Gabriel Agati, the best Brazilian in the VGC in recent years. Along with this, 71 competitors from Chile will also be present, including Javier Nain, number one in his country, and 34 worldwide. For its part, Mexico will have 46 representatives.
In addition to these three countries, Colombia and Panama are participating with eight players each, Costa Rica is taking 12, Ecuador will have seven participants, while Paraguay will be represented by nine people. Guatemala and Uruguay are taking five players, while El Salvador will have 15 participants. Peru is also positioned as a strong competitor, since 33 inhabitants of this country already have their place in this tournament, with Dorian Andre Quiñones Vallejos, third in the region and eighteenth in the world, and Renzo Navarro, fourth in Latin America and 21st in the world, being the strongest cards in this country.
Now, regarding other competencies, the representation of Pokémon UNITE The tournament will be made up of eight teams from Latin America. Peru’s team will be represented by Fusion, 3 Digits and Imperio. Mexico will be represented by E7 Janus, Rework Respawn and Anteiku. Lastly, Brazil will offer Legacy and DreamMax e-Sports.

Colombia will have 13 players, Colombia 11, and Costa Rica nine. Finally, Bolivia, Guatemala and Panama will only have one representative.
Thanks to the Pokémon World Championships format, many unranked players have the opportunity to participate in this tournament. However, this will change next year, so the competition may have less representation from Latin America in the future.
