Joan Laporta showed off his management in his opening speech to the assembly of Barça delegates. The Barça president reviewed the different areas of the club and did so in all of them to exude optimism and pride for what he described as a job well done. “We have worked a lot and we have worked well to return Barça to the place it deserves. You gave us confidence to recover the club’s finances, to build the Camp Nou and to make the Masia work. This is what we have done. We are much better than when we arrived at the club in 2021. There is economic data that attests to this. “We feel strong, convinced and determined to complete the club’s recovery,” the leader said.
Laporta did not hide, however, that the recovery process is not over. “There is still a lot of work to do but we are better from an economic, sporting and institutional point of view than in 2021.”
From here he accepted that the sporting balance of last season did not meet expectations regarding the first football team. “I share the disappointment. The first team’s season did not go well, that is why we decided to give a new boost to the bench with the arrival of Hansi Flick and with the improvement in the structure of the physical trainers and recoveries. With the players from the quarry and with experienced players and with the help of Hansi Flick we think that success will come again. “We are very happy with our squad and that La Masia has an important impact.”
With Hansi Flick, Barça is once again at the emotional center of our lives.”
There were not only good words for Flick. Also for Deco, the football director. “It has reduced the wage bill by 170 million, reinforcing the workforce and rejuvenating it. Now our salary to income ratio is 56%. When we arrived the ratio was 98%. “It was unsustainable.” Laporta also congratulated himself on the restraint in investments in transfers. “The only investments have been Olmo and Pau Víctor. We were talking about about 50 million for an important investment and Olmo cost us 47 million.” The club did not quantify it on the day of the announcement of the signing from Leipzig. Likewise, the president applauded that the club is beginning to know how to sell players. “We have done it for a value of 81 million.”

From sporting to economic balance. “Regarding the 2023-2024 academic year, we are cleaning up the economy in the shortest possible time and without putting the property model at risk. As long as I am president the club will always be the property of the members. We are cleaning up the club without the members having to dig deep into their pockets,” said the president.
Laporta stressed that the ordinary results “have been positive by 12 million euros. “We have healed a wound that has been bleeding since 2017.” He also boasted of what he described as the entity’s sponsorship records. “We have earned 210 million euros, I want to congratulate the commercial department.
“BLM is going like a rocket with the sale of t-shirts.” He couldn’t say the same about Barça Vision. “It has a slower maturation process and has not worked as well as we would have liked. It is a company that has operated very little, there have been non-payments by the partners we had and that has led us to extraordinary negative results, with an impact of 91 million losses.” According to Laporta, all the experts tell them that Barça Vision “will be a gold mine.” “We already have the investment from Aramark, we have other investors ready and we have a business plan. We believe that this company will begin to make profits shortly.”
“They want to destroy us and we have to be more united than ever.”
In conclusion, Laporta stressed that what Barça transmits now is enthusiasm. “We are about to celebrate 125 years, we are close to returning to the Camp Nou and we are on the verge of a process of economic recovery that is being consolidated and with a competitive team that is exciting.”
“We feel strong, convinced and determined to complete the recovery of the club.”
This is where he stopped the most. “Barça is once again at the emotional center of our lives, we are waiting for the weekend’s game to see how many kilometers Raphina will do, what magic games Pedri will do or how many goals Lewandowski will score. We are once again admired in the world.”
Hand in hand with the good sporting moment, Laporta asked for unity against the external enemy. “We have to be more united than ever because we are fighting against everyone and everything. It is not victimhood, it is a reality. We are fighting against those who repeatedly, those who appeal to the Negreira case, a case that we are winning in court, stretch out the gum every time we are doing well. It is a topic that brings out the cave. “They want to destroy us and we cannot show weakness.”
It was here when Laporta charged against the opposition groups that are questioning the management of his board. “I do not share the apocalyptic predictions of some who are neither there nor expected. They don’t tell the truth and it weakens us. And we cannot show weakness.”
