Lapland|The Kittilä municipal council discussed the matter at its meeting on Monday, but decided not to vote on the mayor’s vote of confidence.
Kittilä municipal manager Timo Kurula is allowed to continue in office despite two prison sentences.
The Kittilä municipal council discussed the issue at its meeting on Monday, but decided not to vote on Kurula’s vote of confidence.
“It was marked as information at this point. I was prepared for a vote of confidence at the meeting, but this did not happen. And that is an exceptional situation”, the chairman of the municipal council Aki Nevalainen (left) said Monday night.
About three weeks ago, the Supreme Court (KKO) sentenced Kurula and the former deputy chairman of the municipal board Aki Maunulan to conditional prison sentences for, among other things, attempted fraud and breach of official duty.
