Minimally invasive surgery to remove the gallbladder is becoming increasingly common, but it does not exclude possible complications. Those complications were studied precisely by Professor Gianfranco Gualdi, scientific director of the Diagnostic Imaging service of the Institute of Medicine and Sports Sciences of Coni, who collected his conclusions in an in-depth report dedicated to “laparoscopic cholecystectomy: skills, prevention and multidisciplinary treatment” and which will be presented at the 126th National Congress of the Sic, Italian Society of Surgery, to be held in Rome between 13 and 16 October. In his speech, Professor Gualdi will delve into the possible complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy with images demonstrating fluid collections, abscesses and bleeding that can occur during or after the procedure. In addition, possible resections of the bile ducts and vascular lesions that can complicate the procedures will also be analyzed.
