After a year of hiatus caused by the pandemic, what has been the highlight of the season since 2013 returns to the single-make calendar with a line-up of over 60 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo.
At the same time as the virtual debut of the new Super Trofeo EVO2 which will debut on the track next year and which will be the protagonist of The Real Race powered by Assetto Corsa Competizione, the official game of the GT World Challenge.
Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe
All titles still to be awarded in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. The crew of the Oregon Team formed by Kevin Gilardoni and Leonardo Pulcini, authors of four victories and two more times on the podium, present themselves to the command of the Pro class.
Only eight points is the 21-year-old Max Weering, fresh from the double success achieved in the most recent round of the Nüburgring paired with Loris Spinelli in the Johan Kraan Motorsports car, even if in this circumstance the young Dutchman will race alone.
The German Sebastian Balthasar is also fully in the game for the final sprint, who pays 24 points (with a total of 32 still to be awarded) against the leaders of the standings and who will alternate again at the wheel of a Super Trofeo Evo of the Leipert Motorsport team with the English Seb Morris.
By now cut off from the fight for absolute primacy, but definitely intent on doing well are Raúl Guzman and Glenn van Berlo, at the start with the colors of Target Racing. Two-headed attack for Bonaldi Motorsport, at the start with Daan Pijl and Danny Kroes, authors of a victory at Spa, and the crew made up of Maxime Oosten and Milan Teekens. A car for VS Racing, which confirmed Michael Dörrbecker and Mattia Michelotto, and for Novamarine GSM Racing, which takes to the track with the Danish Kevin Rossel.
In the Pro-Am for Andrzej Lewandowski it is a question of formality. The Pole of VS Racing has a 22-point advantage over compatriot Karol Basz, absent on this occasion after having joined him in the first four rounds, winning a total of five statements.
Alternating at the wheel with Lewandowski at Misano there will still be Edoardo Liberati, together with whom he has already obtained a second and a third place in the Nürburgring stage last September. By now arithmetically cut off from the fight are the two Czechs Bronislav Formanek and Josef Zaruba, third in the standings and authors of a success at Paul Ricard with the Micanek Motorsport team.
Sprint final in the Am with Claude-Yves Gosselin who arrives in Misano as leader, teamed with Marc Rostan in the car of the Boutsen Ginion team. A record that Gerhard Watzinger, Gabriel Rindone (both at the start with Leipert Motorsport) and Oliver Freymuth (AKF Motorsport) can still undermine him.
Finally, Hans Fabri will try to defend the Lamborghini Cup crown that he already won last year; Imperiale Racing’s Dutchman has just three points ahead of Frenchmen Pierre Feligioni and Daniel Waszkzinski (Boutsen Ginion).
Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America
The sixth and final round of Misano will see Richard Antinucci present himself as the leader of the Pro class of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, which this year set the record of 30 cars at the start of the first round in Cota (Texas), last May.
The Italian-American of Dream Racing Motorsport, champion 2017 and 2019, on his return to the series after a year of absence, has so far won five races out of ten and has a 13-point advantage over Stevan McAleer, who will alternate at the wheel of a Super Trofeo Evo of the Change Racing team with Jeroen Mul.
Steven Aghakhani and Jacob Eidson (US RaceTronics) and the Wayne Taylor Racing crew formed by Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli are still in the game for the title, separated by 21 and 24 points from the leader.
In the Pro-Am, Brandon Gdovic and Bryan Ortiz only need two points to become champions with the PPM team. However, there is little hope for Victor Gomez (Change Racing). Luke Berkeley, after having obtained a double victory in the previous round of Laguna Seca, leads the Am class with 117 points, always with Dream Racing Motorsport. At 104 there is Alan Metni (Change Racing) and four points behind Ashton Harrison (Wayne Taylor Racing), the only woman at the start.
A single point separates the leader Matt Dicken, color bearer of the Change Racing team, from the Precision Performance Motorsports crew made up of Mark Kvamme and Terry Olson in the Lamborghini Cup, who set the four victories at Watkins Glen.
