Real Madrid remains at the top of the LaLiga table thanks, in part, to the great advantage it obtained in the first half of the season. The white team put on the face of a champion when they saw Barcelona at 17 points but there is no team that wins the titles in December and LaLiga is far from sentenced, because we must not forget that Sevilla is only six points away, that Barcelona comes like a shot while Madrid has a hard time getting their games forward and in 20 days it’s the Clásico.
Although it is very difficult for Barça to be able to fight to win LaLiga even by beating Madrid at the Bernabéu, it can put pressure on the Whites, become judge of the contest and complicate life for the eternal rival to unsuspected limits. It is still not convenient to rule out the Catalans so lightly. Madrid may have half the League in hand but that is no guarantee and at any moment it can escape them. If a few months ago there were those who thought that Ancelotti’s team would win LaLiga comfortably with several games to spare, now the feeling is that there will be excitement until the end and with that Barça as an unexpected agitator… and even with Atlético de Madrid that transmits more security than Real Madrid itself.
The income that Madrid has is wide, especially with Barça and Atleti, but not enough to give themselves the luxury of stepping on the brakes because the competition is very demanding and any minimum mistake can make them suffer or even lose their advantage. The fight for the title seems like a matter of two with Betis and Barcelona waiting for their chance. Cutting 15 points in 13 games seems like a more than complicated undertaking, but I’m sure Xavi’s men will be in charge of adding excitement to LaLiga until the end.
