These days Lada is working on the evolution of its Vesta Sport TCR, which is back on track for some development tests.
In fact, a prototype version of the Russian car was picked up at the Sochi Autodrom during a private test session.
This Vesta, in yellow-black camouflage livery, features some important innovations, first of which – very clearly visible – the reduced rear bumper, a choice that takes up a concept launched by JAS Motorsport for its Honda Civics long ago and also seen on the Alfa Romeo. Giulietta Veloce by Romeo Ferraris.
In the lower part you can see how the drain has been brought to a central position; this solution is also one of the choices now on the agenda for all TCRs.
From what you can see, there are also changes to the wheel arches, with the front wider and the attack placed higher in the bodywork, while the rear one has been reduced since it no longer has to connect to the bumper.
Finally, the rear wing attachments have also changed their appearance, now with two separate pillars.

Lada had built a first version of the Vesta TCR by exploiting the knowledge gained together with Oreca in the FIA WTCC, where the TC1 model had raced as an official until 2016, and then passed into the hands of R-Motorsport private individuals in 2017.
Later the Vesta evolved into the Sport TCR, with a slightly smaller displacement engine with a different bore, new clutch and rear suspension, and a slightly smaller rear brake disc.
After the debut in the FIA WTCR for the final event of 2021 in Sochi it was declared by the leaders of the Lada Sport Rosneft team that they would try to expand their programs, also because up to now the Vesta has practically raced only in the TCR Russia , with a couple of specimens shipped to Germany for the local series and NLS.
