Research carried out by Oregon State University concluded that compounds present in cannabis can prevent infection by the coronavirus.
The study was published in the Journal of Nature Products and concluded that cannabigerolic acid and cannabidiolic acid prevented infection of human cells by a pseudovirus that expressed the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

The researchers also stated that the acid is effective against both alpha and beta variants. Despite the positive results in the laboratory, no experiments have been carried out on humans, nor have they compared infections between those who used the compound or not.
