The statements of Pablo Benegas, composer and guitarist of the group, have coincided with the release of Amaia Montero’s latest song
The guitarist of La Oreja de Van Gogh, Pablo Benegas, declared this Wednesday about the recent departure of Leire Martínez as vocalist of this group that “many lies have been told” and that at the moment they don’t have any plan about the continuity of the band.
The composer also made these statements during a speech at the International Meeting of the Musical Industry in Bilbao. «Right now we are resting, especially from the tour, which has been demanding, and recovering time with families; We don’t have any plan, we have taken a leap into the void, we don’t have anything tied or planned, we want to rest and see what we do in the future,” he answered the question of whether they plan to look for a new singer.
He also did not want to delve into the reasons for the end of the relationship with Martínez, but he did point out that it was about something that had been coming for a long time: «These decisions are not made lightly. Reaching a situation like this is not a matter of two days or a month, we have had differences for a long time and we have been managing them.”
Benegas’ intervention has coincided in time with the release of Amaia Montero’s latest song, which broke a 6-year musical silence with ‘The perfect storm.
