One of the great F1 themes of the future is that of tires. In fact, in 2022, in conjunction with the revolution in technical regulations, Pirelli will also introduce the new 18 pcs. This type of tire has been tested throughout the year by drivers and teams, with the aim of providing the Italian company with useful data to prepare the best possible product for next season. Today this series of tests carried out during the season has come to an end. The last to be engaged in the work of ‘roughing’ the new tires was Daniil Kvyat, third Alpine driver. The Russian, at the wheel of a French team car dating back to past seasons and set up specifically for these tests, completed well 167 turns on the flooded Paul Ricard track.

The goal of this session was in fact to experience the new intermediate tires. Pirelli, through the tweet published at the end of the working day in France, made it known that information had been collected “vital to finalize the final specification for next year “. Obviously in the Circus the theme of rain tires is particularly at the center of attention after the events of the Belgian GP a few weeks ago, when in fact the race was not disputed due to the excessive amount of water raised on the track, which did not it allowed the cars in the rear to see the road.
