Political clear text is desirable – but Wolfgang Kubicki misses the limit by a long way. Christian Deutschländer believes that he was a bad choice as Bundestag Vice-President.
In politics you have to be grateful for any plain text. Too much churned-out language pulp and smoothed out by PR officers clogs the debates of this republic. Don’t offend, just don’t polarize, and politically correct down to the last decimal point and the stupidest gender star: this political talk has long since moved away from people. That’s annoying – and yet there are limits where plain language and directness end. FDP man Wolfgang Kubicki has now tested this out several times. And missed the limit by a long way.
Corona dispute: Kubicki derailment at FDP party conference – not original, but justiciable
Kubicki is always about representatives of a more rigid corona policy. In his local pub, the SPD politician Lauterbach is called a “Spacken” (ie: spastic, handicapped) and a “dumb cheek”, he said in an interview in September. Now at the weekend he equated a medical functionary with the Iraqi mass murderer Saddam Hussein during an appearance at an FDP party congress. It’s not funny, it’s not original, it’s justiciable and defamatory.
FDP-Kubicki makes contributions to brutalization – he was not a good choice as Bundestag Vice President
Our society suffers from the fact that debates get out of hand, that people are insulted and mobbed instead of argued and contradicted. And that it is often no longer just words. Kubicki would have every right to deal with the corona policy, to point out errors.
Instead: Derailments, again and again, a contribution to brutalization. As a reminder: Kubicki is Vice President of the Bundestag, one of the highest representatives in our country. He was not a good choice for this post.
