After months spent under the banner of instability both at the owner level and on the track, theAlfa Romeo tried to put order, at least confirming the sponsor Orlen. The Polish oil company also brought Robert to Hinwil Kubica, and the former BMW and Williams has just announced the renewal of his contract as a reserve driver for the 2022 season.
“In the next year I will still be a reserve driver in F1, but the priority will be to race at the highest level possible“, Kubica told a Eleven Sports. “In the Endurance races of the 2022 season I will remain in the category LMP2, this will be the best solution for me“. Category in which he became champion of the European Le Mans Series this year, together with Louis Deletraz and Yifei Ye.
In all likelihood, Kubica will participate in Friday free practice for four race weekends and at least one session of winter tests, which will be held at Montmeló in Barcelona from 23 to 25 February and at Sakhir (Bahrain) from 11 to 13 March.
