PUBG’s company expands, acquiring Unknown Worlds.
Also Krafton he devotes himself to acquisitions, following the fashion of giants like Microsoft and Sony. The company behind the famous battle royale Player Unknown Battlegrounds, has in fact acquired Unknown Worlds, software house in the limelight thanks to Subnautica and its sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero.
Unknown Worlds becomes Krafton’s sixth studio, joining PUBG Studios, Striking Distance Studios, Bluehole Studio, RisingWings, and Dreamotion. Starting his journey by creating a mod for Half-Life, Natural Selection but the real success came precisely with Subnautica. The team will be treated as an independent team even if the future IPs created will obviously be owned by Krafton. Unknown Worlds is actively working on a new title, “capable of redefining the genre” and which will arrive in early access in the course of 2022.
