French winger Kingsley Coman has kept the door open about his future with Bayern Munich, but at the same time expressed his hope to renew his contract soon.
Koeman, 25, said, on the sidelines of the Bayern match against Barcelona in the Champions League, on Tuesday: I want to play the season until the end and give my best, there are many options.
“Of course we’ve had conversations, the club will continue to speak with my agents, and there may be news soon.” Koeman, who scored the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final, has played for Bayern since 2017. Koeman’s contract runs until June 30, 2023, and Bayern can still benefit from the return on his sale at the end of the current season.
Koeman, who was linked by the media to the move to the English Premier League, explained: Bayern is a big club, one of the best and biggest clubs in Germany and the world.
He continued: The door has not yet closed for me to survive. Koeman confirmed that he was performing well after undergoing a minor heart operation several weeks ago.
“It can be said that everything has gone very well, everything has improved a lot since the surgery, I can now focus more on the matches,” the French star added. Koeman praised his coach, Julian Nagelsmann, and said: “We haven’t had a coach who has had such a good impact on the team for a long time.”
