A lecturer is stabbed at a community college in Wedel near Hamburg. He is taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Four brothers are at the center of the investigation.
Wedel – After the bloody attack at a community college in Wedel near Hamburg, four brothers suspected of the crime are now free again. There is no strong suspicion against the Syrians, aged 17, 19 and 21, that would have made an arrest warrant possible, a spokeswoman for the Itzehoe police department told the German Press Agency. However, they remain at the center of the investigation.
According to current information, the 67-year-old music teacher from Tornesch (Pinneberg district) was seriously injured by stabbings from two men on Friday afternoon in the parking lot of the adult education center in Wedel. His life is not in danger, said the spokeswoman.
Background of the crime still unclear
The four brothers were arrested in Wedel shortly after the crime. On Friday, the police initially only reported on the arrests of the two 21-year-old brothers. The background to the crime is still unclear, they said.
The police spokeswoman also did not provide any concrete information on the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. “They probably knew each other,” she simply said. She would neither confirm nor deny that they were students of the lecturer. dpa
