The fight for the title of the 2023-24 Premier League season remains exciting. The top two in the table, Liverpool and Manchester City, will meet next Sunday at Anfield.
The team led by Jürgen Klopp, in which the Colombian Luis Díaz stands out, beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday in stoppage time (0-1, goal by Darwin Núñez) and is the leader with 63 points.
Josep Guardiola's men are second with 62, thanks to their victory in the classic against Manchester United (3-1). Lurking is Arsenal, who play this Monday against Sheffield United as a visitor. He could reach 61 in case of victory and remain in the fight for the title, with 11 dates left in the season.
Next Sunday Klopp will face the coach against whom he has played the most times in his career, according to statistics collected by the Transfermarkt portal. It will be the 30th match between the German and the Spanish.
Guardiola only has a negative record against two coaches, counting those he has faced on more than one occasion. One is Antonio Conte, with a balance of three wins and four losses. And the other is Klopp.
In the previous 29 games, the German's team won 12 times, against the Catalan's 11 wins and six draws.
If the search is reduced only to the Premier League duels between Liverpool and Manchester City, the balance leans towards Guardiola: 15 games, with 5 wins for City, 4 for the Reds and 6 draws.

They also met in the Champions League with their current clubs, in the 2017-18 season: Liverpool won both games (1-2 at the Ettihad Stadium and 3-0 at Anfield).
Both Klopp and Guardiola won a Community Shield against the other: Manchester City won in 2019 (6-5 in shots from the penalty spot, after a 1-1 in 120 minutes) and Liverpol, in 2022 (3-1).
In the FA Cup they faced each other once, with Klopp winning (3-2, in the semi-final of the 2021-2022 edition), and in the League Cup, the only duel ended with victory for Guardiola (3-2, in the fourth round of 2022-23).
It should be remembered that Guardiola and Klopp also faced off in Germany, coaching Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, respectively. Adding all the official competitions, the balance is even: four victories for each.
