Singer Philip Kirkorov accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of treason, writes “MK”.
According to the artist, they used to be friends with Zelensky, but now the President of Ukraine has renounced him.
Kirkorov said he did nothing wrong to Ukraine. He believes that “it was possible to somehow resolve the issue” with the lifting of the ban on his entry into the country. According to him, the title of People’s Artist was given to him by “far from pro-Russian” President Viktor Yushchenko. The singer also recalled that he produced Ani Lorak at Eurovision, where she took second place, representing Ukraine, and stressed that he also helped with participation in the Moldavian competition.
The artist expressed regret that he could not perform in Ukraine, adding that it hurts him. He noted that in this country he was expected as his own, and was outraged that Russian and Ukrainian artists could not perform on the same stage.
In 2018, it was reported that they wanted to deprive Kirkorov of the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine. Last year, the artist said that he would like to come with a concert to this country, and also that he is waiting for an invitation from Zelensky, with whom, according to him, he is associated with a lot of “kind and light”.
We will also remind that since January 19, Kirkorov was banned from entering Lithuania for a period of five years. The reason for this was that during his repeated visits to Crimea, he allegedly “deliberately denied the sovereignty of Ukraine.” The singer said he would appeal this decision in European courts.
