Kim Jong-un sent Putin a telegram congratulating him on Russia Day
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he congratulated Russia on the Day. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Korean Central News Agency.
In the telegram, Kim Jong-un wrote that further strengthening of relations between Pyongyang and Moscow will ensure global peace and security, true international justice, and also stimulate the process of building a strong state in both countries.
On May 24, the Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that Putin would take advantage of Pyongyang’s invitation for an official visit to the DPRK; the trip was being prepared by the relevant departments.
On June 10, Vedomosti reported with reference that the Russian leader may successively visit North Korea and Vietnam in the coming weeks.
