Khalifa University of Science and Technology today announced that the 36th edition of the International Conference on Robotics and Intelligent Systems 2024, organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in partnership with the Japan Robotics Association (IROS 2024) in Abu Dhabi, will feature the “Robotics in Africa” forum, which will highlight the continent’s remarkable progress, especially in the field of research and innovation, and will issue a report on the current status of the robotics sector in Africa.
Organized for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region, under the theme “Robots for Sustainable Development”, the AIROS conference will be held from 14 to 18 October 2024 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), bringing together researchers, academics, leading companies and industry professionals from around the world. The Africa Robotics Forum, scheduled for 16 October 2024, will explore opportunities for leveraging robotics and smart systems applications, enhance communication between industry experts, and highlight the impact of research and development in Africa. A total of 13 forums will be organized during AIROS 2024.
“The AIROS 2024 conference brings together a wide range of participants from academia, government and industry stakeholders, and the Robotics in Africa Forum is the right platform to showcase the current state of robotics on the continent, as well as its latest research on practical industrial applications, education and training,” said Dr. George Dias, General Chair of AIROS 2024 and Director of the Centre for Autonomous Robotics.
