Kevin Gameiro, at 37, has decided to end his stage as a professional footballer. After an outstanding career in clubs such as Sevilla FC, Atlético de Madrid and Valencia CF, the striker born in Senlis, France, says goodbye to football. He started his way in the Strasbourg with only 17 years and, after passing through the FC Lorient and Paris Saint-Germain, made the jump to LaLiga Español, where he lived his most glorious years.
In Sevilla FC, Gameiro shone with his own light, conquistando three UEFA Europa League and keeping the heart of the Hispanic fans. Then he signed for Atlético de Madrid, where he added a Europa League Fourth. His last stage in Spain was in Valencia CF, with which he raised the Copa del Rey in 2019, scoring a key goal in the final against FC Barcelona.
After passing through Spanish football, Gameiro returned to Strasbourg, the club where his career began, to play his last three seasons as a professional. Despite having played in great teams, the striker recalled his stage at Sevilla FC with special affection, where he played more than 145 games and scored 67 goalsconsolidating itself as an idol for the nervous family.
Three titles obtained with Sevilla
Through his social networks, Gameiro said goodbye with an emotional letter in which expressed his pride and nostalgia for closing this chapter of his life. He thanked companions, coaches and, above all, the fans who always supported him.
As Sevillista played 145 games, scoring 67 goals and winning three Europa League. «We have achieved incredible things, winning three glasses. The truth is that I will never forget those feelings of being able to play for this club and will always be in my heart. Seville until death !! ”, he stressed in his Gameiro message.
The striker arrived at Sevilla in the season 2013-14from Paris Saint-Germain, and was until the 2015-16 under the orders of Unai Emerywith which he achieved those three continental titles before signing for Atlético de Madrid, in which there was also two campaigns and got another title of champion of the European League (17-18), although he did not have the prominence he had in Seville under the orders of Diego Pablo Simeone.
After this he left for Valencia for 18 million euros and, although he was not a starter, he left his mark. In fact, it was more than more, being decisive in the Copa del Rey that won the Valencian team. He participated in all the goals of the semifinals against Betis. In the final he scored a goal against FC Barcelona.

For its part, Sevilla wanted to wish one of the players who was key in the golden age of Unai Emery. Through several publications in networks, the Nervión Club has paid tribute to French for its withdrawal from professional football.
