The first Brazilian medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics came from skateboarding, a new modality at the Olympic Games in this edition, at dawn this Sunday (25), at the Ariake Urban Sports Park. In men’s street, Kelvin Hoefler took the silver with 36.15 points. The gold went to the Japanese Yuto Horigomi (with 37.18 points) and the bronze went to the American Jagger Eaton with 35.35.

The Brazilian came to lead a good part of the final, but ended up being overtaken by the representative of Japan during the test of individual maneuvers. In some moments, he was even out of the medal zone, but he recovered in a spectacular way and making the best score in the last maneuver, he secured the medal.
