Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan: in 2024 there is no need to reserve gasoline for the fall in the Russian Federation
Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliev stated that there is no need for the republic to reserve gasoline in Russia in 2024. His words are conveyed RIA Novosti.
Satkaliev noted that every year Kazakhstan reserves 50-70 thousand tons of gasoline in the Russian Federation for the fall, which gives operators the opportunity to import these volumes if necessary if there is no shortage. “Now there is no such need,” the head of the Ministry of Energy noted after voting in a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant.
Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant on October 6.
The issue of constructing a nuclear power plant in the republic has been on the agenda since the very beginning of the republic’s existence. There is not a single operating station in the country. In 2019, Tokayev stated that there was no need to build the station, but on August 31, 2023, he proposed holding a referendum on the issue of construction.
