Akatsuki Games, in collaboration with Toho and Production IG, has announced the development of a new game tentatively titled “Kaiju No. 8: The Game”. The title will be available for PC (via Steam), iOS and Android. While no release date has been set yet, the game will be released as free-to-play with in-app purchases. “Kaiju No. 8” is a popular manga series serialized on Shonen Jump+ since July 2020. The series has achieved considerable success, so much so that it inspired an anime adaptation that began in April 2024.
In a world infested with creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspires to join the Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist together with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. However, life takes them down different paths. While working cleanup after battles with the Kaiju, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join the Defense Force awakens in Kafka the promise to join Mina and protect humanity.
