The magistrates investigate the four monthly payments that the players would have given up during the first wave of the pandemic
Turin – New accusations against the Juventus board for false accounting and searches throughout Italy. The Guardia di Finanza of Turin carried out them today, 23 March, on the orders of the magistrates Marco Gianoglio, Ciro Santoriello and Mario Bendoni in the frame of the investigation into Juve already started in December on the alleged capital gains in several years of financial reporting.
The searches concerned renowned law firms in Turin, Rome and Milan where private deeds between companies and players concerning the salaries of the same in the two years of Covid were filed.
The records – we learn from authoritative sources – would not have been found in the Juventus offices in the previous inspections by the financiers. The hypothesis of the accusation false accounting remains charged to Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, Fabio Paratici, Marco Giovanni Re, Stefano Bertola, Stefano Cerrato, Cesare Gabbasio, but the new conduct hypothesized by the judges against the suspects concerns the four monthly salaries that the players would have renounced during the first wave of the pandemic. According to the investigation it would not be a real renunciation but a mere deferral – millionaire – of the payment of at least three of the four months. This would have allowed Juventus to record a reduction in costs in the 2020 and 2021 financial statements, the problem is that this would have happened, however omitting the simultaneous recognition of the debt position in the financial statements.
