Turin – Juve has formalized the internal promotion of Paolo Montero after the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri: the 52-year-old Uruguayan coach will lead the first team in the last two championship matches against Bologna and Monza.
The former defender, who yesterday concluded the championship with the Juventus Primavera team of which he has been the coach for two seasons, showed up this morning at Continassa to direct his first training session, supported by Francesco Magnanelli and Simone Padointhe only ones on Allegri’s staff not relieved of their duties.
Tomorrow evening the debut at the Dall’Ara against the rossoblù of Thiago Motta (on pole for the Juve bench next season), a match that offers third place in the standings.
Montero wore the Juve shirt between 1996 and 2005collecting 186 appearances and winning four league titles, three Italian Super Cups, an Intercontinental Cup, a UEFA Cup and an Intertoto Cup.
