With less than 24 hours until the deadline to save the processing of Catalan budgets expires, the scenario is increasingly dark. After yesterday’s veto by the CUP, negotiations continued during this Sunday session. However, Junts per Catalunya, partner of the Government and whose Minister of Economy, Jaume Giró, has prepared the accounts, has not sent any representative to the meeting that is underway this afternoon between the Government and the commons in the Palau de la Generalitat to try an agreement that allows to overcome the debate of the totality of the budgets.
The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Sànchez, has affirmed this Sunday that the post-convergent training will not accept to modify the accounts prepared by the Minister of Economy to open “the door” for the policies of the commons in Barcelona to be replicated throughout Catalonia. “We will not accept that the budgets are changed through the back door,” Sànchez said in an appearance before journalists at the same time that ERC representatives in the Government were meeting with the commons, since after 4:00 p.m., to undo the processing of the accounts, and hours before the amendments to the whole are voted on tomorrow, Monday in Parliament.
“Junts will not modify, it will not accept any 180 degree, 45 or 20 degree turn, because we understand that these are good budgets,” said Sànchez, who has called on ERC and the CUP to “redirect their discrepancies” to reorganize the independence majority of the investiture. However, in the event that ERC and commons reach an agreement, Junts will evaluate its content once the accounts have been processed, sources of the training have indicated.
