Latin rhythms, refreshing revelations of Spanish music and artists from all types of Mediterranean islands make up the programming of the next edition of La Mar de Músicas, which will celebrate its 29th edition this July in Cartagena. The poster, presented this Thursday, brings together proven musicians such as Julieta Venegas, Xoel López, Carla Bruni and Christina Rosenvinge. Also to Ralphie Choo, Rusowsky, Adiós Amores and La Plazuela, young artists and bands with great impact on the national scene during the last two years. In addition, there will be concerts that will take place to places such as Sicily, Malta, Cyprus, Sardinia, Corfu Menorca. And one of the main dishes will be 'The Night of THE TRUTH', with María José Llergo, Rita Payés and Gaye Su Akyol. Tickets are now on sale.
In addition, at La Mar de Músicas there will be space for local artists. In fact, Karmacadabra will open the program on July 19, and Naked Family (Saturday the 20th), Nunatak (Thursday the 25th) and Mavica (Friday the 26th) will also perform. All of these concerts will be in the Town Hall and CIM squares, the two stages that will open each day with free concerts between 7 and 8 p.m.
Tickets for the performances in the Patio del Antiguo CIM will cost 15 euros and for the Paco Martín auditorium, between 25 and 30, although both spaces offer subscriptions for all their performances. In the last of those scenarios, the programming will be eclectic. For example, the festival will open with the Mexican Julieta Venegas, Baiuca, a young Galician who mixes folk rhythms with electronic music, and the Maltese Joon. There will be Spanish artists such as Depedro, Camilo (Sunday the 21st). And as a cherry on top, the French Carla Bruni.
In the Paco Martín auditorium, the festival will be closed on Saturday the 27th by Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba, The Gardener and La Plazuela, the group from Granada that had great success last year in venues and festivals throughout Spain. It is one of the revelations of Spanish music that the festival will offer, like the band Adiós Amores (Saturday the 27th, Plaza del Ayuntamiento), and Ralphie Choo and Rusowsky, the two stars of the Russia IDK label. They are two of the young people who have most recently transcended internationally, and they will bring their fusion of innovative electronic sounds with urban music to the only concert that will be held on the Port esplanade, on Wednesday, July 24, and it will be free.
The culmination will be the melodies of Mediterranean islands, the main genre of this year's poster. The concerts, which will be spread across all stages, will appeal to all types of island towns: Carmen Consoli (Sicily), Anna Ferrer (Menorca), Daniela Pes (Sardinia), Marina Satti (Crete), Buzz' Ayaz (Cyprus), Electric Litany (Corfu), Júlia Colom (Mallorca), Johan Papaconstantino (Corsica), Gaye Su Akyol (Prince Islands) and Christina Rosenvinge, who will put the finishing touch on the courtyard of the Old CIM with her latest album, based on the Greek poet Sappho from Lesbos.
