Among the new challenges that he will have to face in this new legislature, he cited the Coexistence Law
The professor of Social Psychology at the Juan José Vera Martínez University was re-elected for four more years in the University Claustro that was held this Thursday afternoon in the Auditorium of the University of Murcia, where he was elected after facing the also professors María Dolores Adsuar Fernandez and Eva Ortiz Cermeno.
As soon as she heard the news, Vera expressed the great support that this re-election provides her to continue in the work that she had already been doing for four years, «until what will probably mean the end of my university career in this position. I feel that the Senate asks me to continue in this position that is so important within the university».
Among the new challenges that will have to be faced in this new legislature, Vera Martínez cited the Law of Coexistence, “because it regulates all the rules of equality, attention to disability, prevention of harassment, resolution of internal conflicts, etc. . and the Ombudsman has a very important role». He cited the new statutes as another of the fundamental and imminent regulations, as well as the Mental Health and Well-being Strategy of the University Community, which is almost finished, a proposal to study academic dropout and prolonged stay, that is, people that it takes many years to get out of university, as well as a new line of work “which I see as very evident, and that is administrative agility, regulatory updating, since we have many obsolete and contradictory regulations”.
«We need to streamline, simplify regulations and empower the university community for a better administrative operation. I want to go to the bottom of it because they are things that are very interesting, since I detect it from the cases that are coming to me », he added. Vera Martínez also cited issues of conciliation, evaluation and better understanding for the functioning of the centers and the University Community among her topics of interest.
“Now I will be able to face these problems with much more emphasis, on the one hand because of my re-election, and on the other, because I have already spent four years learning which has given me more perspective and resolution,” concluded Vera.
