Juan Cruz Real, coach of Junior de Barranquilla, highlighted the work of his team, despite the 2-1 defeat against Atlético Nacional, which meant elimination from the 2022-I League final.
Despite the investment made by the team this year, Junior was left without a prize this semester, as he had also been eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana.

Real, at a press conference, spoke about what happened this Wednesday in Medellin and what he has in mind for the next semester.
Real highlighted the performance of Junior
The balance of defeat. “First, congratulate Atlético Nacional for reaching the final. I think my players stood up on this court, with the people who were against. The team had a lot of character, we had situations that we couldn’t finish, we had two or three situations with set pieces under the goal”.
The goals against. “The first came in an unforced loss, in the second, a center that headed us and we are far from the mark.”
The elimination. “Sad because we did not reach the final, but grateful to my players. If we analyze the match, playing well with a good field in the first half and then, with the rain and playing with two strikers, in balance we were superior to Nacional. They took advantage of what they had, more than anything because of our mistakes.”

The future. “We have been here for a little over five months and we hope that Junior will be a difficult team and continue to evolve, there is a lot to correct, we have to balance each other, beyond the pain of not reaching the final, I am thinking of passing the page tomorrow and think about what’s to come, and more with the demands of a big club. I am happy with how they have adapted to our demands. We have to try to erase this quickly and move on, because the other tournament starts quickly”.
