Journalist José Luis Balbín died this Wednesday in Madrid at the age of 81, according to his official Twitter account.
The Spaniard achieved great popularity in La Transición with the broadcast of the program ‘La Clave’, which he directed on TVE during the years 1976 and 1985 and, later, on Antena 3 from 1990 to 1993.
The journalist also directed the information services of Televisión Española between 1982 and 1983, in addition to having been an essential figure on the radio waves, where he developed his career on Antena 3 Radio and Cadena Cope. In 2015, Balbín was awarded the National Television Award granted by the Ministry of Culture.
