José Antonio Pérez, appointed deputy director and head of Spain at ABC

The director of ABC, Julián Quirós, has appointed José Antonio Pérez Fernández deputy director with the task of leading the Spanish section (Politics and Courts). Pérez Fernández (Madrid, 1968) is a journalist with a long career in different media. The new head of Spain will join the Editorial management group where he will work closely with the Director.

He began his career as an editor for ABC, and later, successively, he was head of National and Research at La Razón, general director of La Crónica de León and territorial director and head of the presidency of Agencia Efe.

In the field of communication, he has held a press position in the government of Castilla la Mancha and in recent years, until his return to ABC, he served as head of business development at OK Diario.
