Life after MotoGP
After a very difficult season in Honda HRC alongside Marc Marquez, in which he scored just 28 points, no top 10 placings and a very bad injury in Assen, Jorge Lorenzo chose to hang up his helmet at the end of 2019.
His career was decidedly high level, with 3 titles in the MotoGP class and two in the 250.
At 32 he then chose to become a test rider for Yamaha, a job he then left after a few months. In 2022 the transition to four wheels, first in the Porsche Cup Italia and the following season in the Porsche Supercup.
In 2024 Jorge Lorenzo divided his time between the role of commentator for the Spaniards of Dazn, that of an entrepreneur And that of digital content creator, with the opening of the canal YouTube Duralavita.

And right in his podcast, Jorge Lorenzo confided that, for the first time since his retirement, the champion from Palma de Mallorca he looked back on the past with a note of melancholy: “This year was the first where I felt a bit nostalgic for my past as a pilot. In the other four or five years I didn’t feel it, in fact I was very happy to live without racing.”
The Spaniard then described the precise moment in which he felt this feeling: “When I was in Aragon, I saw the other riders and the public watching them, and then Marc Marquez who was enjoying his return to victory with the team. I will never experience this feeling again…“.
