“Of course we want that hall back,” Selänne said on Saturday.
A hockey legend Teemu Selänne promises new information about the project in the next few weeks, the goal of which is for the Jokerit to return to the hockey league.
“What I can say is that the package is starting to come together. It’s almost as if we can announce more,” he said on Saturday at the tennis Bermudan Kannu tournament at Kalastajatorpa in Helsinki.
He said that he wished that the matter could have been told in more detail now, but that will have to wait a little longer.
“But it looks good, such greetings to the Jokeri fans”, Selänne said between tennis games in the scorching heat of Saturday afternoon on the side of the court.
He is one of the owners behind the Jokeri project. The goal of the Jokers is to return to the League for the 2023–2024 season.

Interesting the thing, of course, is where the Jokers would play. The former Hartwall arena, the current Helsinki hall is empty and it is of great interest to the Jokers.
“The hall issue is not in our hands. As far as I know, three groups are after it. It would be good if someone got it,” says Selänne.
“However, it will not be left to the hall. It was the home hall of the Jokers and of course we want it back.”

To himself Selänne envisions a role in addition to ownership, at least in brand building. He also says that he was delighted with the excitement and enthusiasm the project has already created.
“We want to build a similar role for it as it once had. The brand is one of the finest and I believe that the whole of Finland is excited that Jokerit is coming back.”
He also says that they want all the legends of the industry to join the project.
“We offer ownership for just a mark”, he laughs.
