Last Thursday (29), federal deputy Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP) hired criminal lawyer Antonio Carlos de Almeida Castro, known as Kakay, to represent her. He is currently in New York and should return to Brazil only next week.
However, the lawyer is already carrying out, even from a distance, the investigation of the attack suffered by the parliamentarian, in her functional apartment in Brasília. In a statement, the lawyer said that he has the most absolute trust in both the Legislative Police and the Civil Police of the Federal District.
“The deputy suffered serious injuries and, of course, she has the right to know precisely what happened. For this reason, the technical defense is qualifying itself to contribute to the investigation of facts, without any intention of actively participating in investigative acts, which are the exclusive competence of the police,” the statement said.

The criminalist has been a lawyer for politicians such as Ciro Nogueira, José Sarney, Paulo Maluf, José Dirceu, among others. Also in a note, the lawyer stated that, in addition to the deputy, he had already talked to the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL).
“The deputy has already been heard. She clarified that, although she has several dislikes due to her political stance, and she has serious doubts whether the serious and multiple injuries were really the result of a fall, she explained that she would not be reckless in pointing out any suspect at all,” the text concludes.

The deputy revealed that she was attacked on Saturday (17) in her apartment. She says she woke up “in a pool of blood” with several fractures all over her body. Hasselmann does not remember what happened and, although he does not rule out having been sick, he believes he was the victim of an attack.
A tomography that the deputy performed reveals that, for the injuries to be accidental, she would have had to have fallen “at least 6 times”. Knee, rib, shoulder and nape traumas were identified, in addition to five fractures on the face and one on the spine.
