in conversation with NME, the interpreter told how it was difficult for him to get a job that did not pigeonhole him into the same type of character he played for the popular HBO series.

“They didn’t want to take a chance on me,” he says, “my confidence started to drop so I waited and then I waited some more. I wanted something different. Every time you have a show as successful as Game of thrones, many similar characters follow you. But I thought: ‘I will resist them’”, he explained.
With the success behind the HBO original series, John Bradley waited patiently for characters to stray from the image he had on GOT. This is how for 2022 he accepted a role in Moonfall, a science fiction film in which a spaceship overcomes a tidal wave, and Marry Me, Jennifer Lopez’s romantic comedy about the wedding of a pop star. These two films mark his grand return to Hollywood after a self-imposed sabbatical.
The end of Game of thrones continues to face fans
John Bradley also spoke about the closure of fiction, which, three years after his departure from television, keeps his fans divided by the fate of Jon Snow, the Starks and the rest of the characters.
“The reaction from the fans was so fierce that when people think of Game of Thrones, they have a sense of disappointment because they didn’t like the ending. I would like it to look like a complete body of work. Those great moments are not going to be forgotten and they shouldn’t be toned down or taken away because the ending wasn’t to your liking,” he explained.
