According to what was reported by TMZAshton «he died peacefully» at his home in Ft. Collins, Colorado, this Thursday. He had been living with the for years now cancerwhich contributed to his death.
The actor’s family has asked that donations in Ashton’s memory be made to Pathways Hospice Care. Ashton’s representative, too, Alan Somersshared a statement confirming his death.
John leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication and service. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, as well as his brother, sisters, extended family and all who loved him. John’s impact on the world will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
John David Ashton was born on February 22, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts. His first film role was in the 1973 film The Psychopath. The actor subsequently participated in numerous films, including So Evil, My Sister, Borderline And The Adventures of Buckaroon Banzai Across the 85h Dimension.
In addition to film roles, Ashton appeared in numerous television projects of the time such as The Twilight Zone, Columbus, The A-Team, Wonder Woman, Starsky & Hutch And Dallas.
As mentioned at the beginning of the article, however, the actor is mainly known for his role as John Taggart in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. He debuted in the role in the film 1984 Beverly Hills Cop and then reprized the role in the sequel 1987or Beverly Hills Cop II.
