O US President Joe Bidenwill talk by phone on Friday (18) with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The agenda will be the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the White House announced on Thursday (17).
The meeting will serve to “keep open channels of communication between the United States and the People’s Republic of China,” said the US executive spokesperson Jen Psakiin a statement.
Despite not declaring a position, China is probed as a possible supporter of Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. In February, weeks before the war began, Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin reinforced the Russian-China partnership during the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
