New claims for unemployment benefits in the United States rose by 21,000 to 211,000 in the week ended March 4, the Department of Labor said on Thursday. Analysts heard by Wall Street Journal predicted smaller growth, to 195 thousand.
Already the number of continued orders was high of 69 thousand in the previous week, to 1.718 million. This indicator is released one week late.
