The 26-year-old goalkeeper arrives at Cartagena from Valenciennes in Ligue2. Signature for one season with option to another
FC Cartagena made official this Saturday the signing of goalkeeper Jerome Yashin Prior (France, 1995) for his incorporation to the Albinegro club. The goalkeeper comes from Valenciennes FC in Ligue2, is 26 years old and has signed for the Cartagena team for one season with an option for another.
Jerome began his career as a professional at Girondins de Bordeaux in 2012, a team with which he debuted in the top flight of French football three years later and to which he belonged until 2019. He also knows what it is like to play European competitions with the Bordeaux team, since it got to play three official matches of Europa League. Last season he went on loan to Valenccienes of the French second division, a team in which he was the undisputed starter, playing a total of 32 games.
The new Cartagena goalkeeper stands out for his reflections under the sticks and for his good aerial game. He is a brave and domineering goalkeeper at high starts. He is left-handed but has good ball handling with both legs and shows great personality when it comes to getting the ball played. Jerome Prior will join the Efesé training sessions under Luis Carrión in the next few hours to join the 2021/22 squad and start working towards the next LaLiga SmartBank matches.
